Appliances and security cameras have gotten most of the buzz. You’ve seen the commercials where the worry-free traveler makes sure the doors are locked and the lights are off back home while lounging on a beach in some tropical paradise. This speaks to our sense of security and peace of mind. But what about outside? What has been addressed “tech-wise” when it comes to the outside of our home (besides the obvious security cameras)?
Televisions and sound systems have crept their way into the outdoor living space. There are plenty of services available to get you connected through your device so you don’t have to leave the comfort of your bar stool or hot tub if you want to change the channel. Bringing inside elements to the outside is the trend and it shows no signs of slowing.
As with irrigation, landscape lighting has really jumped lightyears (pardon the pun) ahead due in part to LED technology. LED lights have many advantages over standard or halogen bulbs. These bulbs are smaller, more durable, brighter, and consume less energy.
Of course water and gas features are not excluded from all of this remote controlled tech. Whether it’s a bubbling water rock, or gas fire pit; the options are all there!
Granted, there is a price tag to all of this computerized wizardry, but like all technology, it can only go down as new gizmos come out. Just look at the TV industry. Sooner-or-later, you too will be a maestro of your own back yard; either while at home, office, or far off in the Caribbean!
